Interaction Techniques for AR Using Hands
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper presents a research on ideal interaction techniques for augmented reality systems. They have been determined for two different settings. In the ‘lab setting’, the ideal technique should enable the user to work precisely with multiple virtual objects by using real objects, to input large amounts of different types of data. In the ‘action-outdoors setting’, the ideal technique should not use real objects, limit the number of options for the user and enable the user to manipulate multiple small virtual objects.

Micro-channels over the glass surface made by interaction of Ar+ laser beam and Ag+/Na+ ion-exchanged glasses
Micro-channels are made over the Ag+/Na+ ion-exchanged soda-lime glass surface by interaction of an intense Ar+ laser beam and the silver ions inside the glass matrix. The Ar+ laser beam reduces the Ag+ ions inside the matrix. The Ag+ atoms aggregate into silver nano-clusters around the interaction area, inside the glass matrix. Aggregation of the silver atoms and the thermal effects of the int...
متن کاملAdvanced Interaction Techniques for Augmented Reality Applications
Augmented Reality (AR) research has been conducted for several decades, although until recently most AR applications had simple interaction methods using traditional input devices. AR tracking, display technology and software has progressed to the point where commercial applications can be developed. However there are opportunities to provide new advanced interaction techniques for AR applicati...
متن کاملRemote Hands-On Experience: Distributed Collaboration with Augmented Reality
One claim of Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL) is to support and exploit benefits from distance learning and remote collaboration. On the other hand, several approaches to learning emphasize the importance of handson experience. Unfortunately, these two goals don't go well together with traditional learning techniques. Even though TEL technologies can alleviate this problem, it is not sufficie...
متن کاملStatistical analysis of the autoregressive modeling of reverberant speech.
Hands-free speech input is required in many modern telecommunication applications that employ autoregressive (AR) techniques such as linear predictive coding. When the hands-free input is obtained in enclosed reverberant spaces such as typical office rooms, the speech signal is distorted by the room transfer function. This paper utilizes theoretical results from statistical room acoustics to an...
متن کاملAn Exploratory Study of 3D Interaction Techniques in Augmented Reality Environments
Augmented Reality (AR) interfaces typically involve the overlay of virtual imagery onto the real world. 3D interaction with the virtual scene is a key feature to explore the full potential of AR. Despite the large number of interaction techniques that have been proposed to enable for intuitive 3D interaction in AR environments, little effort has been done to compare these techniques. In additio...
